Child Safety Standards

UniConnect is a social platform for university students aged 16 and above in Nigeria. We verify email access; student status is self-declared. We prohibit child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSAE).

Our Commitment

UniConnect strictly prohibits any content or behavior that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors. We do not permit:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form
• Grooming, solicitation, or exploitation of minors
• Content that sexualizes or endangers children in any way
• Any attempt to use the platform to harm minors

Age Requirement

UniConnect is intended for university students and requires users to be at least 16 years of age. Signup verifies access to the supplied email address and asks for student eligibility confirmation. This is not proof of age or parental consent. Additional safeguards required by applicable law remain necessary for younger users.

Reporting

If you encounter content or behavior on UniConnect that violates these standards, please report it immediately through:

• The in-app report feature (available on posts, profiles, and messages)

All reports are routed to our admin team for review. Confirmed violations result in content removal and account suspension or permanent ban. Where required by law, we cooperate with and refer matters to appropriate authorities.

Enforcement

UniConnect reviews all user reports through our internal moderation dashboard. Accounts found to be in violation of these standards are suspended or permanently banned from the platform.
